The N4EK repeater is located just east of Homosassa Springs, Florida off of Grover Cleveland Blvd. The repeater is owned and operated by N4EK and KD4BRJ, Ed and Trish Koch. The repeater has been on the the air at it's present location since Feb. 2000. Prior to that it was located at N4EK's QTH in Citronelle, Florida.
The system consists of a General Electric Master II repeater controlled by a Computer Automation Technology Inc. CAT-300 controller and a Wacom WP-641 duplexer. A Communications Specialists, Inc. TS-32P tone board provides encode/decode tones for the repeater. The antenna is a Decibel Products DB-224 commercial 4-bay dipole mounted at the 500 foot level on a 6 foot standoff bracket. The antenna is fed with Andrews 1 5/8" air insulated hardline. Andrews grounding kits are used at the 500', 250' and at ground level for lightning surge protection. A Polyphaser coax lightning arrestor is mounted on a grounding panel inside the building along with an ac line protector.
